News & Events

One of the major draws of homebuyers to Villages of Monterey (VOM) is the child friendly atmosphere. Based on information from realtors, 2 out of 4 buyers in the development have children under the age of 18. Whether your neighborhood is a main draw for children or not, I am told that everyone benefits as the valuations of the neighborhood are interdependent on values in other parts of the development. Events such as Halloween are one of the draws to VOM. To ensure a successful and safe Halloween this year we are asking residents cooperation on the following:

1. Debris

a) Sidewalks need to be debris free to ensure safe passage of residents and their guests to walk around neighborhood.

b) Street Corners should be cleared of debris to ensure maximum visibility for safe crossing and ability of drivers to spot pedestrians.

c) The debris remaining is very dry and a simple cigarette butt can cause a huge problem for the community.  Watering the debris before the children start trick or treating would be helpful.

2. Guests:  If you are having guests for Halloween, you must pick-up preprinted passes at guardhouse by 10/30.  Resident’s will be checked off a list when they pick up their passes. Residents will need to get them to their guests before 10/31. The passes will be printed on a special paper so as to not be duplicated. This will allow us to speed the entrance of guests and avoid a traffic issue on Orange Blossom. If guests do not have a pass, they will be turned away by the CCSO.

3. Parking:  Limited to your driveway and the NON SIDEWALK side of the street only. The streets cannot be blocked with cars on both sides in the event of an emergency. There is no parking at the clubhouse on 10/31.

IRMA has caused all of us a very difficult time. Let's use Halloween to put the development back on the path to being a child friendly neighborhood and a welcome real estate venue.

Thank You,
